CPBS’ Composite Structural Insulated Panel (C-SIP) is the most advanced multi-functional building product available for homeowners and building professionals.
The strength, energy performance and efficiency of the C-SIP wall panels are the result of bringing together fiberglass reinforced thermoset (FRT) polymer skins and the moisture resistant, rigid closed cell polyurethane foam insulation that has excellent compressive strength and long term, stable R-values. These highly advanced materials comprising the C-SIP wall panel are chemically bonded together by a chemical reaction during manufacturing – no adhesives are used – eliminating the risk of delamination.
By targeting the common failings of traditional exterior building systems, CPBS delivers a high performance wall with its C-SIP wall panel. The wall panel’s interior and exterior FRT skins create far superior strength and energy efficiency, while eliminating thermal transfer and dramatically reducing any air, water or vapor infiltration. In a single product, the C-SIP replaces six different materials or envelope treatments:
- Exterior Sheathing
- Foam Insulation
- Air Barrier – No house wrap required
- Vapor Retarder – Stops hot air at the outside of the wall, especially valuable for humid climates
- Moisture Barrier – Continuous, sealed exterior building envelope
- Structural Walls that eliminate wood or metal framing
The structural walls in the C-SIP System eliminate the need to convert studs to expensive 2 x 6 framing, in order to meet modern Energy Codes with the added cost of extra insulation. With an R-value of R-26, this cost effective installation lets you achieve 2015 Energy Code requirements today while reducing construction time, reducing job site waste and increasing building envelope performance.
Whether used as a structural wall panel or installed over existing walls in non-structural applications, new construction or renovation or wherever high performance and lower utility bills are the desired result, clients will quickly benefit from all the capabilities of CPBS’s premier multi-functional C-SIPs.
